Our Service and Values

The Royal Free has a long history of diagnosing and helping people manage ME/CFS. In that time, it has also contributed to research and supported campaigns to raise the profile of ME/CFS and reduce the stigma associated with it.

A collection of hands coming together in a circle

In the past year, the service has been re-designed to better reflect our increased understanding of the condition and the needs of our community.

We have developed a service that is based on best practise guidelines, current research and following discussions with those in our community (Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Camden and Islington) with ME/CFS for their invaluable insights and input.

We aim to provide a service that our community are proud of and that it helps make meaningful changes to their lives and the loved ones around them.

We will continually monitor the latest research and have aims to be a part of that process too; developing effective management programmes that cater for all who need it.

As a team we are proud to uphold the Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust values of:

Visibly reassuring, Clearly communicating, Actively respectful, Positively welcoming

Our team have set additional values of:

  • Self-Acceptance
  • Togetherness
  • Openness
